Jean-Baptiste Caron, s’approprie le phénomène de l’attraction terrestre pour réaliser Poids et mesures. Alors que chaque cube de verre est encore chaud, il le lâche au sol. De la chute la plus vertigineuse résulte un cercle de verre plat (renvoyant au céleste) portant encore les traces de sa forme originelle: le carré (qui renvoie à la terre). Empilables, ces cubes de verre forment un équilibre instable, comme une tentative de recréer la colonne sans fin de Brancusi à rebours, faisant de l’effondrement un principe de construction à visée esthétique.

Jean-Baptiste Caron uses the gravitational attraction to realize Poids et mesures. While each glass cube is still hot, he drops it on the floor. From the more vertiginous fall follows a flat glass circle (refering to the celestial) and still showing traces from its original form: the cube (refering to the Earth and its stability). These stackable glass cubes stand in a fragile balance, like an attempt to create again and backwards the Endless Column by Brancusi, turning the collapsing into a principle of construction within an aesthetical goal.
